Bringing Together the Collective Intelligence of the Object Management Group Consortia
Artificial Intelligence and related technologies, such as multi-agent generative AI, are transforming digital engineering, simulation, modeling, and design by enabling rapid, autonomous optimization and decision-making, reducing the need for manual intervention.
In digital twins, for example, AI agents synchronize real-time data with virtual models, enhancing predictive maintenance, performance optimization, and lifecycle management. For AR/XR/MR, AI offers personalized, interactive experiences and insights, creating immersive, context-sensitive environments that improve training, design collaboration, and operational efficiency.
To ensure that industry keeps pace and fully embraces the capabilities of AI, OMG created a cross-consortia AI Joint Working Group. This joint working group brings together the collective intelligence of the OMG community of consortia. To achieve this, the AR for Enterprise Alliance, the Digital Twin Consortium, and the OMG Standards Development Organization, are aligning their AI-related activities.
The joint working group will advance AI integration with digital twins and related technologies across four primary areas of expertise: Standardization & Semantics, Interoperability & Intelligent Automation, eXtended Reality (AR/XR/MR), and Responsible AI.
